IKEA HEJNE's are cheap and functional wooden shelves, but with a default shelf height annoyingly incompatible with other IKEA accessories, such as the higher SAMLA boxes or the PAPPIS cardboard boxes, where a single is too low and a double too high and wastes space.

This drill guide allows to easily drill 1½-height shelves without any measuring.

I used a 6mm drill bit and it worked fine. Careful, the wood likes to splinter on the other side.
