The EasyShape Organizer is a simple, customizable storage solution that I’ve been using to hold everything from game tokens to small tools. It’s a versatile little box that can be easily shaped to fit whatever you need, with minimal effort.
Instead of dealing with grid-based customization, this design lets you tweak just a few parameters in OpenSCAD, and you're ready to go. It’s great for anyone who needs a box with uniform-shaped cubbies but doesn’t want to spend a lot of time fiddling with complicated settings.
I’ve found it useful for organizing various items, but its uses are pretty much endless. Whether you’re into board games, crafts, or just need some tidy storage, the EasyShape Organizer is a handy tool to have around.

Customizing EasyShape Organizer
Customizing the EasyShape Organizer is simple through the online Customizer tool available through Thingiverse, right underneath the header images at the top of the page.
Just update the configuration settings below:
-
Rendering Options (render_box, render_lid, render_in_place): Choose whether to render the box, lid, or both. The render_in_place option (experimental) allows printing the lid in place with supports.
-
Grid and Cubby Size (grid_size_x, grid_size_y, cubby_size, cubby_height): Set the number of cubbies wide and deep, along with the size and height of each cubby.
-
Divider and Wall Thickness (divider_thickness, divider_gap, wall_thickness): Adjust the thickness of the internal dividers and the box’s outer walls. You can also set a gap between dividers for more space.
-
Lid Dimensions (lid_thickness, overhang_width, overhang_height): Define the thickness of the lid, how it fits into the box with overhang adjustments.
-
Tolerance (tolerance): Accounts for printer imperfections and provides room for sliding the lid in cleanly. Smaller numbers result in a tighter lid fit but may be too tight off the printer, while larger numbers allow for more wiggle room.
- Lid Notch (notch_x, notch_y, notch_thickness, notch_gap): Customize the size and placement of the notch on the lid for easy opening and closing.
