A flat charging pad to contain a wireless charging coil and circuit. The electronics are cheap (currently £2.11 on aliexpress) and supports any QI device that can lay flat.
The pad measures 80mm x 90mm x 9mm when assembled.
You will also need:
Two M3 x 8mm screws
USB-C charging lead
Printing:
Print the case upside down, with the "circled bolt" logo facing downwards. This will print without supports. My photo is from my base printed on a unitac textured build plate.
Print the cover plate with the flat side facing down without supports. Orientation is unimportant but this will give the best finish on a textured build plate.
Optionally print the support ring. This makes sure the coil will press against the upper surface of the pad for maximum effectiveness.
Assembly:
Place the coil in the case with the adhesive side facing out. If you get this up the wrong way the magnetic backing plate will shield the charging field and stop it working.
Push the USB socket into the hole on the side such that the hole in the PCB aligns with the screw hole in the case.
press the connecting wires flat into the recess.
Optional - place the support ring over the coil
Slide the cover from the bottom into the recess in the case. It has chamfered edges to hold it flat.
Screw two M3 x 8mm screws through the cover into the base, ensuring one goes through the PCB hole to hold it in place.
Operate:
Plug in a USB-C charging lead. You should see a red light just below the logo when its powered
Place your phone on the pad. The light will go blue and your phone will begin charging.
