There's a family of of home air purifiers (NB0-j012) sold under different labels. They use replaceable HEPA and carbon filters. 

1. Replaceable filters seem to be discontinued. At least I can not find them anywhere

2. Filters are (somewhat) expensive

3. Carbon filters have very short lifespan. Like a week or two

4. Being replaceable they create a lot of waste (mix of plasic, carbon, paper, resin).

This is an attempt to overcome these disadvantages. It's a rechargeable air filter. Of course, you have to buy activated carbon and HEPA filters.
