Summary
UPDATE!!!
Its done! I semi gave up on the shroud due to printer and chimera size restrictions, but overall everything should work!.
Old Update
This was originally made to just be a mount setup, no holes drilled. That didn't work. So I made an easy way of drilling holes in the plate to fit the chimera along with a spacer for it.
The main thing I have this this mod is one hotend is in the exact same spot as stock, making it ideal for direct drive such as this
https://www.amazon.com/ENOMAKER-Near-Ender-Direct-Extruder/dp/B085ZRPT15/ref=sr_1_4?crid=EGKM3RF1DT7Q&dchild=1&keywords=ender+3+direct+drive&qid=1621244377&sprefix=ender+3+dire%2Caps%2C451&sr=8-4
This mod made an issue of making it impossible to move the location of at least one hotend, so I made this mod exactly for this setup, but it will work on stock ender 3's too!
This thing is now practically done, working on any carriage like the stock one, all thats changing is the fan shroud to be more printer friendly.
12/23/21 UPDATE
Ok, so this is done, using an improved chimera I have been able to print multi color, material, and nozzle diameters. I can say this is done. I do need some light tuning but that is all. I will be posting new mounting, and drilling plates. I have removed the fan shroud as I think it is pointless, Dremel kits are cheap, and there are better shrouds to use (Will test a few and make them a part of a V2). A video will also soon be made!
Instructions:
So to build this you unscrew the rollers for the hotend carriage, take off the carriage, unscrew the hotend, place the drill plate so it lines up, on the back, screw it in place. Then drill the carriage in the marked holes on the plate. Then take off the plate, its no longer needed and can be thrown away. Then screw on the chimera with the spacer plate and then put a modified shroud on and it will be all good to go.
Final Update:
An assembly stream is out for anyone wanting to build it. This is likely the last time I will be working with the Chimera as due to a lack of one handed nozzle changing and cooling issues it doesn't feel worth it and I will be trying a dual Creality or Revo CR style in the future.
There are 2 options of fan shroud if you want dual part cooling. The duct may not be in the right spot for your nozzles, so feel free to edit the height or anything else.
The new project will be called the Ender Dual Inker for any wondering.
