I modified the latch for mounting inside an Ikea Stave mirror, which comes with hinges, but no way to latch it closed.

You'll need the original catch, which I did not modify, but note that it has to be mounted with a slight offset to avoid banging into the mounts. (If it bothered me, I'd probably just trim down the height of the catch by 3mm.)
