I designed this monitor mount as an alternative to the expensive Cineback modules. Since I already own a V-mount battery, I wanted a more affordable and modular solution for mounting a monitor onto my camera rig.
This design works with the SmallRig V-Mount Battery Plate 3016 and Tilta’s 15mm LWS Baseplate Type II. To install it, you’ll need to separate the 15mm rod clamp from the battery plate and lay the plate flat. The monitor mount is then secured using two 1/4” screws.
I also included space for optional foam padding on the front, back, and inner walls of the monitor frame, as well as behind the screw holes. However, in practice, I found it fits best without any foam. If you prefer to add some, make sure it’s thinner than 1mm.
I’ve left a bit of extra clearance in the design, so it should work with a variety of setups and camera builds.
30 May 2025 updates: I made some adjustments to the design makes it better fit my camera setup (Tilta fx3 full cage v2 + Titla baseplate type 2 + smallrig v mount plate 3016 + smallrig V mount battery). I shortened the height of the top part so the camera screen can be held more securely, and reduced the side clearance to avoid blocking the D-Tap port when using a SmallRig V-mount battery. you can download screen_holder_v3 file if you are using the exact same rig set with me.
