Borrowing the idea from Dampmaskin, I stuck a 15.5mm peg to a 75mm VESA mount adapter. You'll need some nuts and bolts if your VESA mount isn't threaded (which... it shouldn't be) The metal threads of your microphone or mount should cut the threads on the peg no problem.

I'm using this to mount a Blue Snowball ICE to a spare VESA monitor mount arm. You could also use a SM58 or other microphone on this bit.
