This snake uses cyclic hinges to give the snake slithering action along with gear and rack esc mechanism combined with a first class lever to push the tongue out.

Be careful when "cracking" the hinges, I found using a clamp and squeezing the hinges works best, fingers should work too. Using two pliers tends to break off the hinges.
