Tally Light for a camera (wired). The tally light diffuses the light and glows when the camera is active. This tally light holds the components (leds, esp8266, power converter, mosfet, breadboard, power switch, and barrel jack) and can be connected to the hot shoe or attached with velcro. The case holds in place without hinges or adhesive.
Components
These are the components I used. Feel free to use alternatives. Adjust the thickness of the case based on brightness of the LEDs. I used strong LEDs to get adequate brightness and thick walls to diffuse.
