Summary
NOTE: For al that have downloaded this project, I was not happy with the way the Keys were draging in the keyway. I made some changes that freed up the rings and allowed the use of full keys on both sides. Please download the new TopCap (if you have not already printed) andythe new Keys.
This is a combination lock Brain Teaser Puzzle Bank that I designed and built. I went to an Escape Room Game and one of the escape clues was contained in a Brain Teaser Puzzle Bank with 5 alphabet rings. This inspred me design my own device. I used Inventor to draw all the parts. The outside dimension is about 4.25 inches or 108mm. The inside space is about 60mm.
There are 6 print files, but 2 of them (Alpha Ring and Spacer Ring) need to be printed 5 times. These items take a while to print.
The design is simple.
The Alpha ring has 2 parts, the alphabet ring and the slot ring. To select the desired character for that ring, align the slot to the letter and slide it on the LockerCup. The bottom ring is the left most character. Set the desired character for each of the remaining rings. After all 5 rings are place on the cup, the CupCollar is place on the top (with the arrow pointing to the selected characters) and fastened with 2-#6x1" pan screws. Some minor adjusting of the Alpha rings may be needed to align the slot for the key.

Post-Printing
Post Printing
Depending on the extruder settings, it could be tight between the AlphaRing and LockerCup. Light sanding may be needed to make rings slide freely.
The SpacerRing and notched segment of the Alpha ring need to be glued together. Remove the Alpha ring from the notched inside ring before applying glue. I just applied glue to the outside edge of the centering ring on the SpacerRing. Make sure no glue enters the keyway. See example below.
The keys are to be glued (epoxy perferred) to the TopCap
I used gold paint to paint the inside of the inset alphabet on the Alpha Ring.
2 #6x1" screws are needed to attach the CupCollar to the ComboCup.

How I Designed This
Backgroung
I used Inventor to draw all the Items. This is an original design and is not reverse engineered from any product.
