A thin, flexible grid that can be taped down as a masking tool when practicing paint mixing.

Squares are 1", divided by 1/4" (0.25") borders.

Spacing is derived from the instructions for masking out a grid to do the paint mixing exercise described by Richard Schmid in "Alla Prima: Everything I Know About Painting". Rather than go through the trouble of drawing and taping a grid, I thought it might be valuable to have a re-useable grid that I can tape down while working and then peel away when done.

I expect that this will be most useful for paints that sit on top of the surface rather than sink in, i.e. gouache, oil, acrylic. I plan to test it for watercolour as well, but I don't have high hopes.

I printed it with a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, on an Elegoo Neptune 4 plus using regular PLA. Print time was approximately an hour. No supports needed, as it is a very flat grid. cleanup was extremely minimal, and I could have gotten away without any except that I want my squares to come out very clean.

Please feel free to remix! Something like this may also be useful for eyeshadow swatching, although the stencils for that are usually more interesting shapes than squares.
