This chest cavity is divided to fit the P1S printer, and metal wire, strong glue, and threaded rods are needed during assembly.
This model is based on files from the NIH3D website. It recreates the human sternum and ribs, designed to be a low-cost, high-fidelity 3D printing simulator, allowing surgical residents, especially those about to take over as trauma department chiefs in PGY4, to gain experience in performing shell-type thoracotomy. This model is designed to be mounted on a thin cylindrical metal guide rail and secured with springs to provide tension when placing retractors.
