I was having this problem with my kiddos leaving cards for Nintendo Switch everywhere in the house while having dedicated holders for them. I made a simple single card prison I use to glue single card in in order to make it a bit more obvious for them, if they leave cards unattended in house the cards will go to prison same place they left it at. Call me a monster but it worked :D
