this is my first non-yoyo design l've ever made but l've put in has much work into this project as l do my yoyo's
as a retro gamer l have quite the collection of handhelds and consoles and one of my more recent favorite's consoles is my Sega Genesis model 1. now as some you may know that the original Genesis gets a bit toasty, my own console has the same issue as its a model 1 and l've recorded it reaching about 106-109F with a forehead thermometer and it might be higher than that. besides the extra heat it also effects performance and so l wanted to make something that could help either increasing ventilation or add new components. first l wanted to try to make a stand to help raise the console up so the vents at the bottom can have more airflow, l tried the pencil trick which was better than just having it normally sitting on the table but not by much. l quickly made a stand and was able to print it with ease and it turned out perfect. performance with the new stand was huge, the console never reaches over 90-95F anymore and game play is a heck of alot smoother.
l've made 3 different iterations:
Sega Genesis vent stand v2 normal: is the first one l made and is chap and easy to make but is hard to line up
Sega Genesis vent stand with connecter v4.5: is like the original but has connections on it to connect both pieces so its easier to align with the console
Sega Genesis vent stand connect v4.5 skeletal: is a lower filament cost version of the other one
please let me know what you think about this and show pics of your setup in the comments.
