Summary

The official Snapmaker top cover is not expected till September, so a number of users have created significant top covers designs that consume a lot of time and filament. Others have created elaborate frames for plastic totes from IKEA, Walmart, etc. This is a minimalist attempt to hold the plastic totes on the top of a Snapmaker U1 (until the official top gets here).

These clips hold a plastic bin on the top of a Snapmaker U1. Very simple to print and install. This works with the Lowes Latch Lid 66 qt. storage tote (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Project-Source-Medium-16-5-Gallons-66-Quart-Clear-White-Tote-with-Latching-Lid/5013948529?idProductFound=false&idExtracted=true) but will likely work with others by IKEA and Walmart. These clips keep the bin centered. The front clip can also be used to raise the lid slightly for ventilation if necessary.

The clips attach to the frame on the left and right sides of the printer and to the front of the printer. Two versions of the front clip are included. One front clip slides into a small gap between the front cover panel and the frame of the printer. My printer has a slight gap that others may not have so I created a second version that fits over the front.

The left side frame is 1mm wider than the right side. The clips are marked "L and R" to make it easy to install them to the correct sides. Each frame top has two small raised spots that the clips can be inserted over to keep them from moving. The front left and right clips should always use these as a positioning point and should not be placed all the way to the front.

I printed these in PETG and can be printed single color or with 2 colors for the front clips if you want the letters to stand out. I printed with 12 walls and 100% infill for strength. Included is my 3mf profile for the Snapmaker U1 and each individual STL file.
