I had a roll of sandpaper, I needed a drum sander.
My design was inspired by Miklosicza's model https://www.printables.com/model/619813-sanding-drum-for-angle-grinder, but fits the sandpaper and hardware I have available.
Note: FreeCAD model is included and can easily be modified to fit your hardware.
Hardware Needed:
M8x100mm screw
M8 nut
Sandpaper
Recommended Settings:
PLA is not recommended as the drum will get hot in use. I used PETG.
No supports needed, just a bridge.
Extra perimeters.
Use random seams and scarf joints to avoid a 'bump' in the drum.
Assembly:
Print the model parts
Remove the thin bridge covering the hole and tightly fasten the screw and nut.
Measure your sandpaper to fit, either with ✨maths✨ or by inserting one end, wrapping it around, and marking the required amount.
(For this 38mm drum, you need 125-127mm of paper)Cut the sandpaper carefully, be sure to make the cuts straight and at a right angle.
Wrap the sandpaper around the drum, pressing the ends into the notch.
Insert the wedge, then press or hammer it in until flush.
Best of luck!
