The latest in United Earth Forces technology, the Javelin takes the concept of the Jet Mech's ability to shift from fighter jet to mech and both shrinks it down considerably and utilizes more off the shelf standard components, making production and maintenance easier and cheaper; a welcome change on the already strained supply chains of the UEF. There is still the challenge of finding pilots for these mechs unfortunately, as they must be adept at both aerial and ground combat.
Javelin Mech converts from mech to walker to jet and back again in a few steps with NO partsforming! Mech is armed with 2 laser canons as well as 2 kinds of missile pods, all of which are interchangeable and are able to be stored on the mech's shoulders.
So hi everyone, I'm not dead yet! I've been working on this mech in between homework assignments and work for the past few months, my main goal being to make a transforming mech again but this time around the size of my other mechs. While I'm still proud of my Jet Mech, I have always thought it was a bit large compared to the rest of my models. I am a lot more confident in my modeling abilities now, so I was able to make a mech that had most of the changes I wanted.
I was inspired by things like Macross, Gundam Age, and Transformers, though in retrospect I think a little bit of Metal Gear snuck its way in there as well (especially in the "walker" mode). I had to break some of my rules when it came to designing the mech parts to make the transformation easier, but most of the kit's parts should be at least somewhat compatible with all my other parts (though don't expect your kitbash mechs to still be able to transform!).
The Javelin Mech was designed with a focus on simplicity, durability, and ease of printing.
Joints are achieved through a system of 3mm pins that give just enough friction while also easily removed with pliers (for maximum strength, print these so that the long side of the pin is parallel to the build plate).
3 millimeter ports on the arms, legs, and back allow for cross compatibility with most other model kit accessories.

Depending on your printer and plastic, some light sanding and/or tightening of parts may be required. Tightening may be done via thin layers of super glue or multi-surface floor polish.
