Obsolete: GridFlock now has its own magnet jig, with better compatibility. Instructions
GridFlock is a gridfinity-compatible baseplate generator with easy press-fit interconnect. It also features friction-fit magnet slots inspired by Gridfinity Rebuilt.
This model is a jig for fast and easy insertion of press-fit magnets. Insert a stack of magnets, place the GridFlock plates on top of the jig (upside down), and press the slider to push the magnet in.
The jig is designed so that the baseplate slides into place without wiggle room, and that rotating it by 90° is easy to insert the four magnets per slot. Designed in FreeCAD, original CAD file attached.
Printed with 0.15mm balanced profile with auto-generated supports. The supports shouldn't be too difficult to remove. You can use the slider to push out the supports in the magnet area.
Also check out my other model for inserting friction-fit magnets into Gridfinity Rebuilt bins.
Note: This model was originally designed for GridPlates, but that project was taken down. GridFlock is an open-source cleanroom implementation with a similar feature set. This magnet insertion jig is compatible with both.
