Skadis caliper bracket
In my workspace, I gradually shifted from randomly placing tools to a system where each project has a fixed, dedicated location.
In addition to the classic perforated panels that many people at my desk are already familiar with, I am now transitioning some of the settings to the SKÅDIS system. These panels are not only standard, but some are also customized to suit the specific tasks and configurations of the workspace.
Not all problems can be solved with universal hooks. Some tools require dedicated installation brackets. One of them is the caliper. In practice, it is a core tool for 3D design, modeling, and precision machining. It is also one of the tools that must always be within easy reach. If it gets lost among a pile of tools, the workflow will immediately slow down.

This is the function of this bracket.
Design logic
The Skadis caliper rack is a custom hook designed specifically for calipers, focusing on quick access, stable storage, and minimizing the risk of tools falling or being damaged.
The idea is simple: tools shouldn't just "hang around somewhere" - they should return to a precise, defined location after each use. This directly improves the speed of the workflow and the orderliness of the workspace.
Installation and mechanics
SKÅDIS hooks are equipped with threaded connections:
- M2 countersunk screw, 14 mm in length
- A heat-set nut with an embedded hook
This method has several advantages:
- The mechanical strength of the joint is high
- No game develops over time
- Easy to replace or reassemble
- Reliable performance under frequent use
-
This is not an experiment - the same fastening method has already been used on other scaffolds and has proven to be stable over time.
System context
This bracket is not an isolated object, but part of SKÅDIS' larger accessory system. Currently, there are dozens of additional workspace organization components in development, ranging from specialized brackets to non-standard knife holders and storage solutions.
Some of these designs were created early on, while others are still being refined. As part of a unified accessories series, the release will be gradual.
The actual intention
The main goal of the entire system is not aesthetics, but speed. The organization of the workspace directly affects the efficiency of the workflow and the cognitive load. When a tool is not searched for, but is picked up from its exact location, unnecessary friction in the process disappears.
