Revision: Added OpenSCAD File
Revision 2: May 28, 2021. Fixed a fatal bug that only shows up in the latest versions of OpenSCAD.
This is an improved version of my other tri-mesh design "www.thingiverse.com/thing:1874263". The surfaces are smoother so it behaves more slippery under tension and seems a little stronger. It also scales up better without looking jagged.
The original model was made in OpenSCAD in high resolution but the file is very large. It was then run through the decimation routine in Blender which reduced the size by 16x without losing much resolution. Both versions are included
The 4-ring version can be patterned in x and y to make any size square mesh that will fit on your bed. The x spacing is 31.05mm and the y spacing is 17.93mm. I have used both FreeCAD and TinkerCAD to do the patterning. Your slicer may also be able to do it. The include 5x9 pattern will fit on a 200mmX200mm bed.
I have had good luck using PLA and PETG with a bed covered in blue tape and coated with diluted white glue. Keep an eye on the first few layers to make sure it is OK. The large 5x9 mesh has 540 pads on the first layer and they all have to stick! I have had no luck getting ABS to stick.
There is a way to join these patterns to make even larger sizes. Just snip the edge rings in a non-obvious place and snap them over the mating rings. The "bracelet" was made by joining 2 of the 3x5 patterns together.
Of the many uses, you can put one on your head and it will induce calming and centering as Annie demonstrates in the picture :).

Notes:
- Turn off infill but make the walls so thick that you get 100% fill. This avoids the zig-zagging infill does and infill also seems to be slower.
