Vortex Fruit and Vegetable Cleaning Machine
Last time, I shared a large-scale vortex-type fruit and vegetable washing machine—it's functional and reliable, and it has long been put to the test in my kitchen. It's especially handy when making jam.
However, sometimes we don't need such large equipment. Just a few handfuls of cherries and a spoonful of blackcurrants can easily do the job - at this time, a small and portable washing machine that is within easy reach is particularly convenient. It was based on this need that I was inspired to create a miniature version - using the same vortex cleaning principle, but with a more compact optimized body size.
This model continues the classic style in terms of design, retaining the iconic side-mounted guide pipes and drainage grooves. However, this time, I slightly tilted the side walls inward—this way, excess water can be more easily drained out, while the fruit particles can stay securely in the cleaning chamber. This seemingly simple adjustment has significantly improved the user experience.
To make the best use of my time, I also cooked a few jars of blackcurrant jam. This time, I didn't use the traditional boiling method, but instead wanted to preserve the fresh fruit aroma as much as possible. All I needed to do was puree the blackcurrants, add the appropriate amount of sugar, and then add a little xanthan gum - only 1 gram of xanthan gum per kilogram of jam. The resulting jam has a thick and smooth texture with a delicate taste. Of course, if it's not stored in the refrigerator, the shelf
In terms of printing, I still use the same configuration as before:
We selected eSUN brand white PLA filament, while the green and yellow edges were made of Bambu Lab's PLA Basic material. Although the support structure is quite dense, it's very easy to disassemble. I printed with a layer height of 0.12 mm and a nozzle size of 0.4 mm, and the post-processing steps can be almost omitted. All the details are fully included in the accompanying 3MF file.

As it turns out, the performance of this compact washing machine is no less impressive than that of its "big brother" - the water flow rotates freely, and the fruit pieces are rinsed clean as new, fully meeting expectations. For those who enjoy making homemade jam, it's definitely a reliable assistant in the summer kitchen. If you need to process 5 kilograms of fruit at a time, you might want to opt for a larger model; but if you want to quickly handle a small batch of fruit pulp or prepare a refreshing fruit snack for your family, this compact washing machine is undoubtedly
It's simple and easy to use, with excellent results, and the jam made with it is delicious and flavorful.
