Replacement part for a Singer/Superba (and therefore proabably white, phildar...) knitting machine. This is part of the second yarn guide that you need for some multi-color knits. The part helps to lock the second yarn guide in place under the main carriage.

Even though the metal springs put quite a bit of tension on it, the part has been holding up well enough so far.
