When feeding filament from above and not using the reverse Bowden tube, there is no PTFE tube supporting the extruder cable, allowing it to droop down, where it can drag over the printed part or more often, get caught between the gantry and the right rear pulley block when Y homing, causing an error and grinding the timing belt by skipping teeth trying to push the tool head to the rear of the printer to activate the Y home switch. This 3D printed clip on cable support fixes that problem by preventing the cable from drooping far enough to cause a problem, while also maintaining very free and unimpeded movement of the cable causing minimal cable bending wear and minimal restriction to the motion of the tool head.
I printed this extruder cable support from ABS-CF which provides excellent stiffness for a clip-on support but the abrasive surface was causing slight scuffing on the cable jacket, so I wrapped the cable with a couple of layers of electrical tape. There probably wouldn't be abrasion if the part is printed from ABS or PETG.
