As a T1D, I've got to carry a ton of… stuff… every day- insulin, needles, glucose, sharps container, snacks, glucose meter, lancets, test strips, tape… it feels like the list goes on and on. I've been paring down my “EDC” (Every Day Carry) kit to get it to as few items as possible by creating multi-function containers that hold as many things in a small space as possible.
I created this little beauty because giant rolls of SweetTarts always seem to break in your bag, and then you're chasing those little sugary discs of lifesaving goodness everywhere- especially when you hit a low! 4 SweetTarts are 7 grams of carbohydrates- enough (for me!) to get stable for 15-20 minutes, during which time I can find real food.
The tubes holds 4 SweetTarts on each side, and the top is tension-fit to stay on. You'll have to push a tiny bit, but when you're low, you can't always function enough to open caps, and its been tested by my GSP and my teenagers to stay together even when dropped down the stairs or stolen and run away with because mom was on her computer and there was no room on her lap; I'll let you decide who did which.
Technical Details:
- 15% infill
- No supports, rafting, or brims needed
- PETG or PLA both work great
Pictures are of the print in a “transparent” PETG so I can check that it's filled without opening it. I also have it in Glow in the Dark for when I'm camping so I can find it in a dark tent.
