Since my printer is manually calibrated well enough that I don't use the auto probe, I figured I'd created a hot end mount without the bulk of the auto-probe.
The next step is to create a version of this hot end mount with a mount for a 30mm fan.
Geometry for this mount based on the .SKP files released by Blue Eagle Labs.
EDIT 2016-07-25:
I always felt the bowden mount was a little chintzy give that two screws and a push-fitting are screwed into it, so I made a slightly larger version that makes screwing into it easier and lasts a bit longer than the smaller one based on the BEL design.
The screw holes are offset in order to fit the hot end mount, there's a small notch that corresponds to the direction for mounting the bowden mount to the hot end mount. See the rendered image.
I recommend using v2 of the bowden mount, but I'll leave v1 up for the purists out there.
Instructions
Printed using ABS, .3 mm layer height, 30% infill
Used M3 x 20 screws and M3 nuts leftover from the build to assemble.
