Remix of this original mount with differently positioned 5/8 inch mic arm thread. I used 4x25 self-tapping screws, with a bit of squishy mounting tape between the parts to distribute the force. Ease the screws in, two quarter-turns forward, one quarter-turn back, don't tighten too hard, and nothing should snap.
