I decided to try using 3D-printed spacers to replace the aluminum spacers and multi-layer shims that were previously used on the Delta printer. By designing a wider diameter at the connection point with the end plate, this design can provide more stable support for longer bolts compared to the small-diameter aluminum spacers. At first, I planned to call them "shims", but after giving it some thought, "spacers" seemed to be a more appropriate term.
The main image shows the installation method of the spacer I used on the idler wheel assembly at the top of the Delta printer.
If you plan to use this spacer for a wheelset with built-in bearings, make sure to choose a suitable diameter to avoid affecting the smooth rolling of the wheels. At first, I directly placed the large-diameter spacers against the wheels, but the wheels were completely unable to rotate. The second and third photos should clearly illustrate what I mean.
