While a slipknot around the PVC wasn't doing too bad, this buys a little more security should the rope slip up the shaft of the stake. I tried to make it not look completely ugly.

The topper's hole is specced at .650" and slips on rather snugly. Pretty difficult to pull off, but I suppose epoxy would make for an even stronger bond. I went with PETG for the filament. The stake probably works best if you set the direction of pull INTO the stake rather than away from it as the hook isn't all that substantial and is more for some reassurance.

I personally use it for erecting my inverted V dipole antenna. Do with it what you will.
