Description:
- Author: Zachar Čuřík
- Launch Date: Q4 2025
- Version: game_save=556, level=03, game_over="unknown"
- Project by: Urobotos Coding
Specifications:
Motion: XY Core
Printable area : 235x235x220 (XYZ, hard Z max is about 240mm)
Home position coordinates: X: -6mm Y: 254mm Z: ~ 0,650mm
Used frame: Voron Trident 250
Extruder: BMG dual drive, Nema 17 pancake, EBB42, Turbo (part cooling) Fan, Electronic and stepper fan cooling, 3D-Touch, TriangleLab TD6s Heatsink + TUN volcano nozzle.
Main Features:
- Emergency STOP switch located at the front of the printer. (Powering the printer ON and OFF is managed via the web interface using the PSU relay remote control).
- Wi-Fi antenna (with BTT-Pi version).
- Exhaust cassette filter (with replaceable carbon filters) and three exhaust fans for print Cooling and Air filtration (Adjustable via Slicer in filament settings).
- Fully enclosed chamber with front door, lighting and top handles for easy handling.
- Electronics housed in the rear section (easily accessible).
- Removable upper plexiglass panel, secured with clips.
- Fully automatic bed leveling system:
Bed tilt adjustment (Bed is mounted on three joint bearings and guided by MGN9 mini rails) and 3D Touch for Bed Mesh Leveling. - Klipper firmware with full configuration Sandworm macros for printer operation.
- Z endstop positioned on the bed, aligned with the nozzle, using a remote proximity inductive sensor. (Combined with 3D Touch, no nozzle cleaning is required for homing or bed mesh calibration).
- Zonal Heated Bed: Center heating only (110W) or full-bed heating (240W), selectable via a switch on the bed.
- Chamber heating using PTC 300W Heater (available as an add-on) at 230V with fan, acts like a sandworm (as his name suggests) for ASA… also Extruder with features 360° cooling around the nozzle using a Turbo fan, making it an icebreaker for PLA.
- CanBus Toolhead (Only four cables from the board to the extruder).
- Supports printing with: PLA, PETG, ASA, Flex and more.
Print Settings (Applies to all sections in the signpost): 🖨⚙
Material - PLA (Chasiss parts), PETG, ASA other (Motion parts, extruder etc…)
Flow Rate - 0.98 (98% for PLA)
Nozzle diameter - 0.6 mm (recommended)
Layer Height - 0.3 mm
Perimeters - 2 (For motion parts and with 0.4 nozzle use 3 perimeters)
Horizontal shells - 3 (Top/Bottom)
Infill - 25%-30% (According to the mechanical load of the part)
Support - No (Some parts have built-in supports)
Z-Hop - On
Print orientation - As in .stl files
Speed - 30mm/s
Min. Bed Size: - 210x210mm (recommended 235x235, 250x210 or similar)
I printed on Printer:
DIY Cartesian
Print Speed: 30mm/sec
Extruder: BMG, 0.6 Nozzle
Slicer: PrusaSlicer
Engine: Marlin
Features I used for printing:
- 3D Touch and bedmesh leveling
- Bed Skew compensation
- Step per mm calibrate
- Print Camera and Octoprint remote control
- Diy Cardboard Enclosure
Note: Most of .STL files contain multiple models that can be separated from each other (if necessary). For example in PrusaSlicer: Right-click on the model → Select: Split → To objects. (This also works on the build-in supports and then you can use yours custom).
How to Start:
If you're ready, just buckle up and start with the Drive Mount section, which describes the initial setup 🚀
After completing all the tutorials on Printables continue to a separate GitHub site where all the necessary Klipper macros for controlling the Sandworm printer are, link: https://github.com/Urobotos/Sandworm

Roadmap:
Drive Mount → Chassis Bottom → Chassis Top → Chassis Middle → XY Axis → Z Axis → Electronics → Extruder → Filament and Spool → Levelup Addons → PrusaSlicer → GitHub
The Roadmap is your navigation helper through the installation progress
If you find an error, inaccurate information, a 3D model with mesh errors in some sections of Printables… or just have an idea for improvement, write a comment in the given section, I will try to fix it as soon as possible. Thank you for your feedback…
