I bought the front lamp FL940 from Decathlon. It is a great lamp for night ride. The issue is that there is no angular limitation of the light so if I use it on the roads I may blind drivers on the road.
So I designed a cap for the lamp in order to be able to use it safely on the road also.
To assemble a set you will need the following quantities of parts :
- 1x Cap
- 4x Arm
- 4 x Lock
- 4 x Hair band
To assemble the set pass the arms through the 4 openings in the Cap then secure the arms by passing the lock parts into it. Then you can secure the cap on the lamp using the 4 hair bands in the hooks of the arms and making a cross.
To be sure not to blind the drivers make sure that the lamp is tilted to the ground of approximately 30degrees.
I tested it a few times on a bumpy tracks and nothing moved.
As always remember that 3D printed materials usually don't like direct sunlight exposure. So you can either use this set only during the night (it is obviously designed for that) or maybe paint your part in order to protect it from the UV.
The CAD model from Onshape is available here
As always on my models feel free to copy and modify it.
