Inspired by Norbaurer's Space Dock

Wanted a heavy solid keyboard stand that was my own...

For my cement make

1. 3d Print mold (recommend PLA since it will break apart easier)
2. Post processing print clean up 
3. Add cooking oil lightly to the inside of the mold, helps release the cement
4. Pour cement 
   1. Used Cement-All available at big box home stores
   2. To turn cement  black used 1 bottle of Rit Dye Black instead of most of the water
   3. Vibrate/Tap mold or table for a couple of minutes to reduce air bubbles
5. Let dry for a day
6. Remove mold
7. Sand by hand to remove print artifacts (250 grit, 600 grit, 1500 grit)
8. Add rubber feet and some padding (rubber, cork etc.) where the keyboard goes
9. To get the dark consistent look added about 5-8 layers of wax

Notes / Tips

• Do not go too intense post processing the mold sanding will remove the print lines (sanding the seam near the base is recommended though )
• If using dye, mix it very well before adding to the mix
• Cement mix should be slightly looser than pancake batter
• To break the mold use a soldering iron or hot air staging (preferably outside because it will release some nasty fumes).  Breaking the outer shell first by hand worked well for me
• I love the way this came out but my modeling skills are just ok.  Would go back and add some more radius edges.
