I made this to attach to the rim and help strengthen the top of a thin paper tissue mache lamp ‘bulb’. The light bulb can be fitted into the center circle and the outer circle is glued to the open ending of the paper tissue ‘bulb'.  The paper tissue bulb is a thin paper mache mix ontop of a balloon. I made this first then measured the opening left after the balloon was deflated. I thought I would just tie string in little holes until I figured I also had a 3D printer I could make a fixture that would make the top stronger.
