Use 7 Yellow 5mm Led's, and for each of them a 47 Ohm series resistor.
The plus pole of the battery tray can be realized by twisting a 0.4mm wire into the 2 holes.
For the minus pole you can use a part of a pen spring.
Leds shall be fixed using a glue. Both tree parts shall also be glued together.
The battery tray can be accessed over the slider.

Needed Parts: 1 switch, 7 47Ohm resistor, and 7 5mm Leds

heat shrink tubing can be used over the Led's connectors, and the series resistor.

+ Pol: twisted wire, - Pol: half of an old pen spring

finally wired Xmas tree, before glueing the Led's, and mounting the top
