Summary
This is a handy funelling filter designed to easily collect aquatic microbes for microscopy. The base contains a fine filter attachement to collect samples and is easily removable. This allows for easy harvesting of specimes to the micrscope or a petri dish.
also required;
- Designed to use an M8 threaded rod extention (can use 5/16th rod in yanky doodle units)
- a fine mesh filter (i use 20-50microns) cut into a 56mm circle
- 56mm X 3.5mm thick rubber o-ring seal
use:
Insert the filter mesh in the bottom of the base, place the o-ring on top. Lock the base to the funel (will be a bit rough first go, but will smoothen over time). Thread the handle and funnel to the rod (either use a thread cutting tap or heat up the rod).
Stir up the water, creek , pond while moving the filter through, once satisfied the filter can easily be removed and the mesh placed in a petridish for later analysis.
Printing;
Design aims to be very easy to print, supports are required on the base only underneed the latch "hooks" due to overhang.
any ideas or comments please let me knows. happy hunting.
