I modified both pieces:

• Added nuts support to make it easy to screw them. Thing walls, but worked for me. Just add some glue to make the nut stay there for ever.
• On the second pice added a bit of conical shape to the screw hole, because of the shape of my screws. You can see the shape in the pictures.
