Filament Spool Holder designed in solidworks. You can print in one piece if your printer can fit it or print in separate pieces. The cut out on the top fits a .25 inch piece of tubing like I have used or anything you have. I super glued the separate pieces together and they seem to be holding up. Should hold the spool off the surface enough to spin freely. Also worked well with http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:436112.

Unfortunately my printer wasn't big enough to print the whole piece at once so I had to cut it in half and scale it down and by doing that the height was off which explains why there is a block underneath it. Its big enough to raise the spool off the surface to spin freely.

Measured width of filament spool, then measured distance from surface and center of spool holder to figure out height of stand. Its about .25 of an inch off the surface and able to spin freely. Took my measurements to solidworks and this is what I came up with.
