Tool holder for each of my VEX team squads so that each squad working on a robot has the same tools and each tool has a home so that all tools get put back and nothing is left out or left on the tray/crate with the robot parts that are not (yet) attached to the robot.
Most of the tools are standard parts that come with the team super kits except for the small needle nose pliers and the right angle screwdriver rachet from Harbor Freight along with T-9, T-15, and the nut driver bits.
The model I printed is using Inland Tough PLA at 215 degrees with 20% cubic Infill. I am using CHEP's V3 1 Cura V5 0 Filament Friday ExtraFast 0 28 Profile. This gcode prints for me in 4 hours and 20 minutes approximately.
Note: On my first print prototype I accidentally made some of the holes just barely too small, so I heated the tools to make the holes a bit larger--just in case you see some slop in the first photos. I resized and tried to take out some bulk, but didn't like the added time and supports. V3 has appropriate hole sizes and does not need any supports. Also, I forgot the small needle nose pliers in my classroom, so prototype is shown with flush cutters instead of pliers.
V4 Made the bit holes more roomy to drop in rather than push in.
How I Designed This
I used the basic general outer shape of the Gridfinity 3D Printer Tool Holder found on pro tables.com for the size and shape of the base, and filled in the original holes. I then measured and placed the holes for the tools I need to put in for my robotics team squads. All work was done on Tinkercad.
