Summary
I got inspired by this thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3129414
Yet, I thought to add for a second sample filament to be held at the same time.
Furthermore, the dimensions were too big for it to fit on my spool holder.
The spool has a diamter of roughly 200mm and 85mm width when unfolded.
Each of the guiding arm-sections can hold about 100g of 1.75mm filament - so 200g in total.
Guideline:
- print two of base_ring_vXX
- print either four of arm_mod_v00 and arm_mod_v01 each
or, if you prefer filament fixation on every arm - print eight arm_mod_v01
Material:
- 8x M3x25mm screws with hex-wing head
- 8x M3 nut
- 4x M3x16mm screws with hex-wing head
- 2x ball bearing 262Z (suitable for an M6-type rod-axle)

Notes:
The part called "base_ring_vXX" has to be flipped by 90° so that the (virtual) axel will sit perpendicularly on your printer bed - which side it is does not matter; I tried both directions and would recommend the side for the ball bearing to show upwards.
On my printer, I use brims for "tall" parts like the part called "base_ring_vXX"; the arms will print without.
If the holes for the screws and filament fixation turn out too small, you might have to widen them. On my prints the arms' center hinge could be attached by using a 16mm screw only; your's may vary and you may even have to add a (stop-)nut.
Custom Section

The foldable spool is in the "working" position - the filament sits snug on it.

The spool is in the "add filament" position - the arms are in a position to easily let a sample winding of filament move across it.
