Our office name plates are acrylic with a thin printing that scratches off easily. This frame should keep the paint from scratching off and gives a better surface for mounting tape or velcro holders to mount it on a cubicle or wall. I print them on their side and made my own brim to keep from leaving a mark on the front. I made a double decker if you have two plates or a single for one plate.
