This project was inspired by a project our class did in Design and Model back in 2013. A "skimmer" is a simple ground-effects vehicle shaped like an airfoil which creates enough lift to "hover" above the ground as it travels forward. Feel free to put your classroom 3D printer to use to demo this model!

This was designed to print vertically, and requires a machine with at least 210mm vertical build height (the size of my machine's Z-axis). Use a brim or the design incorporating "adhesion pads" to ensure the part sticks to your build platform. KEEP THE MASS OF THE VEHICLE LESS THAN ~40g. This means printing with 1 perimeter and less than 20% infill.
