I bought a Garmin BC40 backup camera to put on the back of my RV. This unit came mounted to an aluminum bracket that attaches to your license plate. Since I wanted to have the camera in the middle of the back end of my RV, I created a mounting plate that replaces the aluminum bracket and gets mounted to the vehicle using "Gorilla" mounting tape. I used PETG since this is for outdoor use.
Parts Needed: 2 nuts that will thread onto the "angle position" bolts
Double sided Gorilla Mounting Tape
Here is how you would use it:
Step 1: 3D print the new mounting plate
Step 2: unscrew the 8 tiny screws in the back of the Garmin mount that attach the black
bracket to the aluminum frame.
Step 3: Unscrew the 2 bolts on the Garmin bracket that allow you to alter the angle of the
mounting bracket (these screws go into threaded inserts in the aluminum bracket).
Step 4: Find 2 small nuts that will thread onto the angle mounting bolts and place them in
the recessed cavity on the 3D printed mount and screw the Garmin mount onto the
3D printed mount using the 2 angle bolts (loosely for now).
Step 5: From the back of the 3D printed mount, screw on the 8 mounting screws you
removed earlier.
Step 6: Attach the mount to your vehicle using the double sided Gorilla Tape and adjust
the angle to suit your preference.
