The support is "optional", it helps keep the inside of the cap the right shape.

If you want the inside of the cap perfect (my first print had a crap inside and it still went on with a bit of bruteforce) you can print this upside down and use tree supports, I couldn't get the top of the head to look good but other more skilled printers probably won't have this issue
