No specific material needs concerning strength, durability or tolerances, select material that can withstand the application temperature. Many absorbants get less effective at increased temperature, so mount in position where the temperature may be a little lower (unlike in this picture).

Stainless steel sleeves may be replaced with any mesh or even a 3D printed desing.

Active carbon has to be packed tightly to avoid air path beeing formed when rotated (do not worry, it just gets a litte crushed while the filter is screwed together).
