I was using the original version of this model, but I was having to screw and unscrew the keyboard quite a lot as I move between home and the office, and the plastic thread was just not holding up. I added some 1/4"-20 threaded inserts, but the amount of plastic that melts away as you add in just kinda makes a mess. So this version has a widened threadless hole to make it a bit easier to deal with. Also, my m2.5 screws had a hex socket head, and they would interefer with the tightening mechanism, so I dropped the holes to allow them to fit flush
