Jig to help you accurately set up the steering on your velomobile. This isn't something that should need doing very often, but accuracy matters - if the wheels don't run parallel to each other, you'll be wearing tyres out fairly quickly, and may experience some poor handling.
This jig fits on a 1m long 19.5mm square tube that I got from Wickes (UK DIY company), so I've also included Solidworks models for all three printed parts - feel free to adjust sizing depending on the tubing you can get. My M5 inserts also use a 6.4mm diameter hole in the print - yours may be a slightly different size, so again, you can also adjust for this.
Follow the instructions from the Velomobile World Youtube channel on how to use this jig in general, but with mine there's a slight difference. The way it works is there's a fixed side and a sliding side. So do up the bolt to set the fixed side, and then offer the jig up to the front of the wheel rim, and set the sliding side, doing up the bolt on the sliding stop. You can then move the sliding side piece out, so you can remove the fixture without it snagging on the tyre. Then when you move it to the rear of the wheel, move the sliding side in until it either touches the rim again, or buts up against the stop. You'll either have a gap next to the stop (your wheels are toeing in), or the bolt won't touch the rim (tow-out). The size of the gap gives you an indication of how much to adjust the rod end bearings by - on my Alpha 7 a 5mm toe-in after I'd replaced the rod end bearings was brought to parallel with just a half turn of the bearing on one side.
I printed all parts in PLA, with low infill (7.5%) but four walls on the main parts, and high infill (50%) on the sliding stop. There are four M5 heat press inserts. Two at the top of each of the jig pieces to make contact with the wheel rims, and one in the fixed side to clamp it to the aluminium tubing, and one in the sliding stop to allow this to be set.
