How I Designed This ===================

General

This Thing is a small enclosure designed to house a 12/24Vdc Buck Converter that will provide 5.1V to a USB type A connector.

The**USB Bottom** part of the enclosure contains cutouts which will capture the Buck Converter Circuit Board lower protrusions (component mount tabs and through hole solder leads). The cutouts both allow the CB to lay flat on the bottom of the**USB Bottom** as well as retain the board in place through numerous USB cable insertion cycles.

TheUSB Top applies pressure on the upper portion of the USB A connector, forcing the CB into the proper location.

PSU Output is brought into the enclosure through a connector in the rear of theUSB Bottom. The connector used is a 6 position polarized Molex type. Two Pins are used to bring power into the enclosure leaving the other four for any other use. In my design I brought our the input voltage on two of these pins and power the Printer Enclosure Lighting and HEPA Filter. See the following Things:
