The placement of this holder allows me to have it close at hand when loading/unloading filament. As there is no bottom, it is not a dust/dirt collector. A piece of Scotch Permanent 2-sided tape on the underside of the top flange and on the inside of the vertical portion holds it firmly in place. Printing it upside down means no supports are needed.
