***Update 12/2/2025*** I have significantly updated these models. Over time I found the friction clamp feature to be unreliable and become loose due to the plastic material expanding. Due to this I created several additional models that add a "back extension" that provide a backing lip to press against the metal bar underneath my desk. This feature only works with desks that have a metal structural bar. However, the original C Clamp design is still a valid design if desired.
To fit the new version insert the clamp on an angle and cause it to "flex" a little so it can snap in place. Flexion can be done without snapping the top portion.
The "standard" version still has a top height of 17.9 mm to help with holding in place in absence of the bottom extension. The Bottom Extension version height has been increased to 18.1 mm to provide more flexion.
The original CAD file on OnShape is still valid and has all relevant options.
A simple design to provide some mounting alternatives for objects underneath a desk. The C Clamp design is intended to be “friction” clamp to the overhang of a desk.
The “Standard” and "Back Extension" version can be used to route cables or a cable sleeve through it (see pictures).
This version also has an arc so a cable sleeve can ergonomically rest appropriately.
It is worth noting as the cable bundle gets larger it becomes harder to fit inside the curve
The “Power” version can be used to mount a small power strip (see pictures). The desk I use has a metal frame so the power strip sits flat against it and is therefore effortless to plug in a power cable.
The clips can be slid easily to provide clearance for power cables as necessary.
The "Inner" version is designed to go on the inside of the strip closest to the power switch
The "End" version is designed to go on the end of the strip so it does not obstruct any of the outlets

There are two different Variable Studios
"Common" provides dimensions that are (mostly) common across all models in the document
"Power" provides dimensions that are common across the Power specific models
Some dimensions are document specific and are local to those documents only
Modify the clamp width as necessary for a custom desk fit. Since this is a “friction” clamp design the width needs to be slightly smaller than the width of the desk overhangs
