My intention for this model was giving him some standing-stability and printing it on max. scale on my Prusa MK3.
I hollowed the lower part of the model to fill it with an epoxy-birdsand mix.
I suggest coating it with pure resin before filling the resin-sand mix and let it dry, else some of the epoxy might leak.
I cant tell you the mixing ratio, you have to find out yourself, but it should not be too viscous, so it can fill the joints.
After the epoxy-mix dried, glue the lids with superglue.
You can fill it with whatever you like. i just didnt want any loose stuff in my model, thatswhy the epoxy.
Depending on your settings the 3d printed model should weight 170-220g + 200g expoxy-sand
Parameters i used:
Material: DasFilament PLA Grasgrün/Spectrum PLA Rust Copper
Model Size: 100% (300% of the original model file, what is pretty much the maximum size for an MK3)
Nozzle: 0.4mm
Layer height: 0.2mm…go higher/lower if you like
Infill: 5% …go a little higher if you fear your upper surface wont be smooth. Mine was perfectly fine.
Outer Perimeter: 0.7mm (Arachne) → 2Perimeters. If you want 3 Wall-lines, dont change it.
Scaling down the model might work just fine, but i didn't try. Scaling up should be no problem at all.
I also printed it with Fillamentum Flexfil 98A, for shock absorption. If you give this to active kids, better use a TPU. I wasn't happy with the upper surface though…but it's all about the settings.
